This archive gathers the evolution of my poetry, written in Ishion Hutchinson’s poetry class during Spring 2025 at Cornell. The first poem, Hate is a luxury, was written just before the class began, a glimpse into my voice before it was reshaped by the work that followed. With Roots and Cages, the narrative began. As I compiled these poems, I saw an undercurrent: a deep pull toward trees, roots, plant materia—the natural world as both setting and metaphor.
